Handmade Summer Skirt Number Eight – four different looks!

When I set out to sew my summer skirt wardrobe, I purposefully stayed away from black fabrics because I already have a lot of black outfits that I wear to work and I wanted my skirts to be light, bright and summery. But, I had this fabric stashed away … I had purchased it for another project. When I found it I knew it would make up a really cute skirt. And it did – this is one of my favorite skirts!  I can pair it with just about any color combination. I used Simplicity Pattern 2606.
Here it is paired with a white tank top and a short-sleeve black cardigan and a long necklace:

Same outfit, the cardigan is buttoned up and I added my orange flower pin! Looks a little Halloweenish huh?

The skirt with a white tank and a blue jean jacket and a blue flower pin:

This time with a lavender cardigan!

The color combinations are endless!

Two more skirts to go – I made 10 total

  1. I love the versatility of this fabric and the different tops you paired with it. I post half a dozen of the skirts to my pinterest. The one's I posted I thought were very work appropriate for me(and very cost effective). Thanks for your post. It has inspired me.
